No Show-Cancellation-Reschedule Policy

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As with developing any new skill and especially one that may present challenges, continuous
practice is the key to making gains. As we like to tell our students “Little by little, a little becomes a
lot”. As part of that philosophy, we have reserved specific times for your child each week. For
children to make the most progress and to experience success as soon as possible, we highly
encourage families to prioritize their appointments and to stick with the schedule.

Nevertheless, we understand that families are busy and that unforeseen things come up. In the past,
we attempted to accommodate the need to reschedule appointments. However,

• to maximize the availability of our tutors to your child and other children on the waiting list,

• to accommodate the practical demands of providing office space and clerical assistance,

• and to assure the continuity of your child’s reading and math development,

as of February 1st, 2023, Sarasota Bridge to Reading will be following a new No Show-Cancellation
Reschedule policy. Kindly review our new procedures:

Tutors’ schedules are set by 5:00 PM on Friday for the coming week. Once the schedule is set, all
appointments for that week are charged. Therefore, we ask that you notify us by Friday at 5:00 PM
of changes to your child’s schedule for the coming week.

If the unexpected comes up such as your child is ill or you cannot get to a session, a Zoom session
will be offered at the regularly scheduled time. If for whatever reason your child is unable to
participate by Zoom, we will not be offering refunds, as our overhead expenses do not change. We
will allow each child three (3) make up sessions per year at no charge. Any other rescheduling or
additional tutoring dates will incur a standard session charge.

Should you foresee being away from tutoring for an extended time (such as vacations and holidays)
please provide your tutor as much notice as possible. This will allow us to adjust the schedule and
serve as many children as possible without interruption to the learning process.
